Oh no, I think as I see the people and the posters below. If I had known they’d be here today, I’d have gone the other way. But it’s too late now.
I look down and away from the people below and begin walking quickly. Hopefully they will ignore me.
“Help us stop the murder of babies,” a man says as he sticks a flyer in my face.
I walk faster to get away. I can feel my eyes begin to well up.
“There is a genocide happening,” a woman shouts as I move quickly past her.
Okay, calm down, I tell myself as I keep walking. I want to head straight for the nearest bathroom, but if I do,I’ll be late for class.
I wipe my eyes quickly and keep walking.
