I created this survey about how people view feminism. Please help me out by filling it out: http://kwiksurveys.com/s.asp?sid=r4t8nurh0tyxvqt470762
I thin the survey should have open ended responses to questions where I had to choose “other” to give a more nuanced understanding of my views on feminism as a second wave feminist
I tried taking the quiz, but my perceptions weren’t listed and i thought a lot of “other” answers would help you.
My perception is that there is a minority population of feminists who are disproportionately vocal and they are the problem. Feminism is clearly about equality, but there are people who appear angry and exaggerate both their status as a victim and men’s transgressions against them. For example, i have seen women in what would appear to be a manic episode berating men and anyone who attempted rational conversation was accused of promoting patriarchy.
As i said, this is an incredible minority but disproportionately vocal. As such, they define the perception of feminists and are single handedly the reason for there being an anti feminist movement.
I don’t think “feminism” should even be a word, the anti-feminist lobby should be called sexists and the deranged vocal community should be called “mental”, and what we call feminists just shouldn’t get a name. The reason for this lack of a name is because with a name people will assign the values of the worst examples to the group.
Feminism wouldn’t be a very effective movement without a name. Don’t forget: feminists are still fighting to bring about change.
I took it (I think). I’m guessing I finished it because it routed me to a page that was an advertisement for something else. I hope the test was completed. I had trouble with answering some of the questions because there wasn’t a “I really don’t give a you-know-what about people think about/how they perceive feminism and the continuing fight for women’s rights.” We’re humans and we’re going to screw up/make mistakes in our battle and all that, but I believe feminists have the heart and the passion and the fire behind them that should be the driving force to carry us through the battlefield. Equality for women is a change that’s way overdue–it’s 2014/almost 2015–and I strongly believe that feminism/being an advocate for women’s rights is a fight that’s not won by toeing the line/keeping inside the box/avoiding offending people, etc. in my book.
That was a very well thought out survey. I would have to completely agree with JustSomeDood. The ideology behind Feminism is good, but the extremists have taken it a bit too far. Equality should be the goal, but some have taken it too far into the realm of victimization and man bashing. Just my opinion.

I enjoy taking these kinds of surveys, and I look forward to a discussion of your findings. Thanks for the opportunity!
Thank you for filling it out 🙂
I took your quiz. To summarize, feminism in theory is a good thing. Gender equality should be the goal (not just gender equality but equality period), but as with many other orginizations be it religious or political or anything else it’s been the extremists and radicals who have all but ruined the reputation of all feminists. It’s to the point now that the negativity is all that people seem to know.
